Donna L. LaVoie

Donna’s efforts combine building the agency’s health and science IR and PR practices, strategic direction, staff growth and core competencies. Under Donna’s leadership, LaVoieHealthScience has become an acknowledged leader in health science strategic communications and recognized as one of the top 30 independent healthcare agencies in the US. The agency has received over 50 awards for its client’s work. She is a regular speaker and has written on a range of industry topics for BIO Innovation Organization (BIO) and more.
A PharmaVoice100 2020 recipient, Donna has been recognized for “moving the needle” and creative approaches to solving complex communications challenges. She spearheaded the agency’s trademarked services, The LHS Immersion® process as well as The LHS Fifteen Slide Presentation, which forms the basis for how to tell your story. In 2019, Donna formed a global strategic alliance with Omnicom Public Relations Group to augment the agency’s services with scale and geographic expansion for client success. Prior to starting LHS, Donna was a practitioner at signature biotech’s such as Genzyme Corporation (Sanofi), Alkermes, Inc. and Millennium (Takeda).

Ella Deych Cerminara, MBA – Senior Vice President, Finance & Operations
Ella brings over 13 years of experience in finance to LHS and leads both the agency-wide finance and operational functions. She acts as the liaison to external business partners while providing financial, human resources, IT, and talent acquisition guidance to the agency. Her strategic oversight and deep financial, auditing, and operational experience support the growth trajectory of the agency. Ella’s expertise is instrumental in supporting the development of proposals and onboarding new clients as well as resource planning, forecasting, budgeting, and allocations. She is also responsible for developing and implementing operational procedures. Paul Sagan, Vice President, IR & Corporate Communications
Paul has more than 30 years of experience in investor relations, corporate communications, and integrated communications for both publicly traded companies and emerging private entities. He has helped develop investor communications strategies for more than $2.5 billion in public equity, venture, and convertible debt offerings. His practice focus has been primarily in the life science/biotech and medical device fields where he has advised more than 50 firms from venture-backed startups to multinational corporations. He is instrumental in the agency’s investor research and analytics capabilities, as well as investor identification and targeting outreach. A five-time winner of the PR Club’s Bell Ringer award, he also has extensive experience in media relations and marketing communications and is skilled at communicating complex information for his life science clients to both the investment community and to the general public. Lisa DeScenza, Vice President, Integrated Communications & Head, BD & Marketing
Lisa is a strategic communications leader with over 25 years of experience delivering and executing customized, integrated communications plans to global and emerging health and science companies. She is dedicated to building strong partnerships with her clients and leads account teams to build recognition and extend visibility and value of their companies, products, platforms, and technologies. Lisa’s integrated background is in public relations, media relations, investor relations, corporate communications, marketing, and business development. She is dedicated to growing the agency and leads the marketing and new business teams to optimize visibility of the agency to its target audiences and showcases the team’s role as strategic thinkers within the life science ecosystem. Previous Experience Lisa was Director of Corporate Planning and Communications at Ergo Science Corporation for 14 years. While there, she led two successful stock splits and worked closely with board members on various corporate projects. She acted as the company’s spokesperson and was responsible for writing all press releases and SEC filings. She was responsible for organizing and executing annual meetings and proxy voting as well as special events and trade shows. Lisa has written articles for various publications including O’Dwyer’s PR Magazine and Communications Intelligence Magazine.
Harriet Ullman, Vice President, Public Relations
Harriet offers a broad range of communications services for clients. . She provides her clients with integrated communications support – from product communications, advocacy relationship management and media relations to strategic corporate positioning, branding and issues management. Previous Experience Previously she was Vice President in the Healthcare Practice at Ogilvy PR/Feinstein Kean Healthcare. Harriet brings more than 30 years of business and communications experience in the pharmaceutical and business consulting industries. She was the Segment Marketing Manager at Philips Healthcare for its Senior Living division, and, prior to joining Ogilvy, she was responsible for corporate communications and marketing at Copley Pharmaceutical, Inc. Previously she was the Public Relations Manager at Charles River Associates Incorporated, an economics/management consulting firm.
